After-School Program Tutor/Teaching Assistant

Our After-School program combines tutoring, workshops and extracurricular activities to provide students with support, learning opportunities, and structured activities during out-of school hours.

Mentor Program Volunteer

The mentoring program provides African refugee and immigrant youth with a one-on-one personalized mentoring experience. The relationships aim to develop confidence and provide the tools necessary for youth to succeed academically and personally.

Saturday Program Teaching Assistant

The Saturday Program is a great way to assist ACE students in an energetic and collaborative environment! It runs every Saturday during the school year from 8:30 am- 4:00pm, and combines academics, extra-curricular activities and group mentoring.

Summer Reading Volunteer Assistant

Volunteers help small groups and individual students with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and completion of required Worcester Public Schools reading assignments. Following class, students have an activity period of dance, soccer, basketball, or art!

Volunteer Programming Support Assistant

The Family Programming Support Assistant will assist the Adult Education Coordinator and the Family Programming Staff in facilitating a weekly early literacy playgroup with children ages 0-9 as part of the ACE Family Literacy Program. The Family Literacy Program includes 30 minutes of family activities focused on literacy, with adults and children together.  For the next 2 hours, adults receive ESOL instruction and children have a 2 hour playgroup separately.  The Family Programming Support Assistant will assist in the children’s playgroup. It will be the assistant’s responsibility to assist Family Programming Staff to ensure all children are engaged in a safe and encouraging environment.
